Our Story
Division One was founded by Professor Marcus Bello, a highly respected and skilled practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With years of experience competing and coaching at the highest levels, Professor Bello had a vision to create a space where students of all ages and skill levels could develop their potential in a positive and inclusive environment. Since opening, Division One has become a hub for BJJ enthusiasts in Katy, fostering a culture of respect, growth, and camaraderie.
Division One Jiu-Jitsu is affiliated with GFTeam (Grappling Fight Team), one of the most respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu organizations globally. GFTeam is known for its high-level training, strong community, and numerous world-class competitors. Division One Jiu-Jitsu shares GFTeam's principles and training methodologies, maintaining its affiliation to offer authentic and competitive BJJ instruction under the GFTeam flag.

- Judo Classes : Designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of Judo techniques, discipline, and strategy. Suitable for beginners and intermediate practitioners
- Private Classes : An exclusive, personalized training session tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of the practitioner. Typically conducted in a one-on-one or small group setting
Our Staff
At Division One Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, we are meticulous in selecting our team of coaches. That’s why we’ve assembled a group of the best, most experienced, and highly trained instructors.
Our coaches are more than just teachers—they act as therapists, confidants, mentors, and often as father figures to the children they train. We understand the importance of providing a supportive and nurturing environment, especially for younger students.
We take an exceptionally cautious and inclusive approach when working with children, particularly those with special needs—whether physical, mental, or intellectual. Our goal is to ensure every child feels included and becomes a valued part of the Division One family
