Classes Guidelines

Follow the Instructor's Lead:

Listen carefully to instructions and avoid unnecessary conversation during demonstrations.
Ask questions respectfully at the appropriate time.

Hierarchy and Rank:

Respect the belt hierarchy by showing courtesy to higher-ranking students and instructors.
Address instructors as "Professor" or "Coach" unless otherwise stated

Participation:

Be actively involved during drills and techniques.
Refrain from sitting or lying down unnecessarily while others are training.

Safety First:

Always ensure techniques are executed safely and responsibly.
Do not apply potentially dangerous techniques unless permitted by the instructor.

Classes Basic Guidelines

Entering the mat only with the professor's authorization.

Taking your shoes off before entering the mats.

Putting your shoes on immediately upon leaving the mat. This holds true even if you’re just going to the bathroom. This is to ensure the sanitary safety of all students of the classroom.

Keep fingers and toenails short and trimmed.

Be a Positive Influence:

Encourage and support your training partners.
Avoid negative attitudes or disrespectful behavior.

Zero Tolerance for Bullying:

Any form of harassment or intimidation will not be tolerated.
Use respectful language and behavior, especially around minors. No curse/swear words allowed at the academy.

Represent the Academy with Pride:

Whether in competition or outside the academy, uphold the values of respect, integrity, and discipline.

Parental Support:

Parents are encouraged to observe quietly and avoid interfering with class instruction.

Ensure children arrive on time and are properly equipped.

No picture or video taping the classes, just with permission of coach.

Behavior Expectations for Kids:

Children must listen to their instructors and follow directions promptly.

Disrespectful or disruptive behavior will be addressed immediately.

Use respectful language and behavior.

General Mat Etiquette

Students are expected to hold a level of discipline while in class. These practices include but are not limited to :

Respect the Mat:

Bow or acknowledge the mat before stepping on or off.
Always remove shoes before stepping onto the mat.
Keep the mat clean and free from personal belongings.
Before stepping foot on the mat, make sure to have your entire Gi on as well as a properly tightened belt.

Hygiene and Cleanliness:

Maintain proper personal hygiene; nails must be trimmed, and body clean.
Wear a clean, odor-free gi or rash guard to every class.
If you are feeling unwell or have any open wounds, refrain from training.
No food or gum on the mat

Punctuality:

Arrive on time for class. If late, wait at the edge of the mat for the instructor's permission to join.
Inform the instructor in advance if you need to leave early.

Respect Your Training Partners:

Treat everyone with respect, regardless of rank, size, or skill level.
Roll with control and prioritize safety over "winning."
Only apply as much force as needed. Never intentionally harm anyone.
If a partner taps, stop immediately.
